Padman new poster: Akshay Kumar tells us every freedom needs a fighter

Today, Akshay Kumar unveiled another poster of Pad Man. The film is hitting the theatres on January 26, 2018 and has already got a lot of love from netizens. Khiladi Kumar plays a role based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who launched a sanitary napkin revolution in India. R Balki is the director of the film and it is produced by Twinkle Khanna. Radhika Apte plays the role of his wife while Sonam Kapoor is someone who brings him to the forefront. The film deals with the sensitive topic of menstrual hygiene in the country. People are going gaga over Akshay as for the first time a leading commercial mainstream actor has dared to wear a sanitary pad on screen. The trailer too has been well-received. The new poster shows Akshay Kumar playing with cotton. In the film, he builds a low cost machine to manufacture cheap sanitary napkins, which he distributes amongst women in his village. After being subjected to ridicule and ostracism, he finally manages to put the message across. The poster highlights the fact that every freedom struggle needs a fighter and that innovation is a passion. Talking to Pad Man, Akshay Kumar told IANS, “I didn’t do the research, my wife (Twinkle) did it. The concept is hers and it was written by R. Balki.
