Exclusive! Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s carefree attitude about his Cannes wardrobe will make you chuckle

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to go to Cannes once again. His film, Manto has qualified in the Un Certain Regard in the prestigious film festival. Besides, the line-up of awe-inspiring films, the fest is known for its glamour. Nawazuddin is a regular at the festival since 2012. Movie Magic spoke to the actor about how much pressure he felt for dressing up for the mega film fest. When we asked him if a red carpet look is on his mind, he replied, “Yes, definitely but the dress code there is quite easy as it’s formals. In fact, I feel slightly uncomfortable on the Indian red carpet.” We can understand his confusion as in India red carpet look can be anything from shaadi fashion to Bohemian wear. “I have not thought about the outfit as yet. I have quickly fix up something. I do have a black tuxedo in my wardrobe,” he says. While everyone keeps a watch on who is wearing what at Cannes, Nawaz says he does not bother much. “I do not pay much attention or lose my sleep over it. It is a formal red carpet look, you need to wear a black suit. I already have one ready but my wife is insisting that I buy a new one or get one designed for this outing. I told her I want to wear old one only as no one will come to know that it is old. No one will pinpoint that I am repeating my clothes,” says Nawaz with a laugh. Fans of the actor will remember how he in 2012 disclosed that no designer was willing to come ahead and make an outfit for him. Three of his films were showcased in the fest then including Ashim Ahluwalia’s Miss Lovely. Finally, his wife Aaliya caught hold of a good tailor to have a good suit made for her husband. The scenario is a lot different now. We are seeing Nawaz grace the covers of so many magazines in the best of designer wear and international labels.
