Footage has emerged showing Ant McPartlin looking shell shocked and unsteady on his feet just seconds after a three-car smash.
The TV host was arrested for drink driving after his £29,000 black mini was in collision with two other cars.
And video obtained by the Daily Mail shows the star looking confused and dishevelled as he emerges from the crashed car.
In a statement from the star’s official twitter, he confirmed he will now be going back to rehab.
“Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments,” a statement on his joint page with Declan Donnelly read.
“He has spoken with Dec and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future. As such ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ will not be going ahead this Saturday.”

He was locked in ‘crisis talks’ with his management team this morning hours after being arrested and held on suspicion of drink-driving.
The 42-year-old TV favourite was nicked by cops after crashing his black Mini into two other vehicles yesterday afternoon. He failed a roadside breathalyser test and was held in police custody for 10 hours for questioning.
His mum Christine Woodhall was in the car at the time, having gone for a walk with her son and their dogs at nearby Richmond Park. She returned to the west London home they now share since Ant’s split from his wife Lisa Armstrong, and was seen leaving this morning to be smuggled away in a luxury Mercedes van.

Lisa had sent a driver to collect their shared chocolate Labrador Hurley, who was uninjured in the crash, at around 8pm last night.
This morning Hurley was seen being given an hour-long walk by a blonde woman, thought to be one of Lisa’s friends or employees.
He didn’t appear to be limping or hurt in any way.

Five minutes after Hurley arrived back at Lisa’s home, a taxi backed up to Ant’s front door in Chiswick, west London, and the driver handed a bag to 42-year-old Ant’s personal assistant shortly before midday.
Soon after, Ant’s mum, who refused to speak to the waiting media, nipped into the cab’s side door before being whisked away.

She then collected Ant’s beloved Hurley from Lisa’s – where a dog walker had taken it for a stroll earlier today.

She arrived back at the home she shares with Ant 30 minutes later.
Ant has remained inside his £2million rented house all day. It is just a short walk to the home he shared with Lisa, which in turn is just a few doors along from the Geordie star’s best pal Declan Donnelly.
He hasn’t been seen since the early hours of this morning and is believed to be locked inside with his PA.
As yet there has been no official comment on the arrest from Ant, any of his representatives nor from ITV.
Ant still has 18 months left of his three-year £30million ‘golden handcuffs’ deal with the TV company and had been scheduled to work on the three remaining episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent and November’s I’m A Celebrity.
